To my fellow Pedes and everyone on this board who love, hate or are indifferent to this country and what it stands for. This weekend we celebrate our independence. Now I can admit that our history is full of good and horrible moments, our leaders have made both wise and poor decisions over the hundreds of years in existence, but the greatness of this country comes from the fact that we have the ability to learn from each and continue to thrive forward. Now in this moment of time when we are fighting disease, divisiveness, hate, anger and we feel like we are hanging by a thread as a society, remember that this country and this flag have been through worse times and moments. As we have in the past, we will get past this moment in time and come out stronger in the end because of it. As long as its citizens believe in what this country and this flag stand for and are willing to fight to protect it while giving hope to those who have yet to experience its greatness, but are trying to do what they can to do so. We will continue to be the shining beacon for those all across the globe. This Independence Day, I ask, no matter the creed you choose to believe, pray for peace, pray that those hurting are healed, pray that those who are angry, find peace, pray that those who refuse to listen, find openness, pray that those who speak ill and falsehoods are blessed with the power of truth and kind words because in the end, whether you believe it or not, we are all Americans and this country is at its best when its people are united and no matter what those in our government and media say or do to divide us, we have more in common as a people than they want us to believe. There is a reason for that. A divided populace is easier to control. A united people are their worst nightmare because then we have the power to hold them to account and control the course of our future not them or those who line their pockets. Please remember that this weekend. Have a happy and safe 4th of July everyone.
