Unlike the CDC's initial claims (aka lies) that the proper masks only help doctor's in a hospital setting even cloth masks do stop some of the particles you or others are breathing out to not travel as far. It would make no sense that masks rated to filter out small particles would only magically work as soon as you set foot inside of a hospital and then would magically stop working the second you walk out of the front door.
Personally, and this is just me, but that $1,200 check was enough to get me to wear a mask. They do provide a little bit of extra protection and the ones I have look damn cool. I also think that any business that demands you wear one is justified because it's their business and they should be able to deny you services for any damned reason they want, but it should be up to them and not the Government requiring you to wear one.
I'm going to keep wearing mine. I was actually wanting to invest in a full face gas mask some months before Corona as I live in an area with frequent dust storms. They were running $100 before and now are scarce and go for $400. I'm also one ugly son of a bitch so the masks help cover my disgraceful mug. :)

Instead of making fun of my handle, why not try addressing what I wrote? I'm not a cricket or sheep that is going to blindly follow the popular opinion on this or any other site. The masks are a control conditioning scam to incrementalize the idea of all Americans being told what to do.
The virus was supposed to be a big deal (lab-built chimera) but, in the wild, with a largely post-blackplague populace (see CCR5 Delta 32) they found that 60+% of Americans were incapable of contracting it, and it moved through the populace without much notice, peaking on April 2, mutating weaker and weaker with every passing day, and everything different than that is a Desperate Lie designed to Fuck Over Trump's economy and America itself as an otherwise unconquerable superpower made entirely of battle DNA .. and Guns.
The virus, now, is fake. Most real deaths were caused by medical barotrauma. (ie - murder). Another half of deaths were from calling All deaths of everything everywhere "Covid". (even George Floyd was listed as a Covid death, lol). Their first tests gave 40% false results .. and Tried to give Covid, as SARS-CoV-2 was inexplicably present on the swabs that they'd grind around on the bottom of your brain. So they apologized and made new tests. The new tests give 40% false results, Also.
What do the tests test-for? Covid? No, that's just a set of symptoms, not 'a thing'. SARS-CoV-2? No, the tests are incapable of specifically detecting SARS-CoV-2. (Or anything else.) The tests are a PCR which reacts to debris from coronaviruses. ie - the Common Cold. If you've had 'a cold' in the last 7 to 10 years, you'll stand a good chance of being "positive" on their test.
Any "positive" results they can show are then multiplied further by 15X .. ie - presumed and listed to be another 15 Times Larger .. you know, 'because'.
Their position now is that "cases" are exploding. "Cases', .. not 'contractions', not 'infections', not 'hospitalizations'. "Cases".
Well of Course "Cases" are exploding, they're giving out MILLIONS of tests that give false positives .. and then Multiplying that Times Fifteen! 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
And, also, if anyone dies, they try to list it as Covid, even if the actual cause was organ damage from a bad parachute, etc, etc, etc.
The 'pandemic' is fake. In July 2020, no one is dying Because of, .. From 'Covid'.
But that news doesn't serve their purpose of defeating the US and eventually euthanizing 7,000,000,000 "useless eaters".
Now it's not 'deaths', or 'infections', it's "Cases".
Big numbers equal Fear. Fear gives them Control.
The masks ARE the war.
If they can make / cajole / order the masks to be "normal" .. then absolutely the next steps will be mandatory "vaccinations", 24/7 government people-tracking, permission-bracelets to leave your house, a world religion, no buying or selling without worshipping the image of the Beast, aaaand almost all flesh being destroyed off the Earth.

That's a nice mixture of facts (the first part), speculation (the second part) and fear mongering (the 3rd part).
All I was addressing is that masks do indeed provide certain levels of protections against the Covid-19 virus.
I never worried about catching it back when I first heard about it in December nor worry not about catching it today, tomorrow, next week or next year. As if I do catch it the odds of dying are so low it's nothing to really worry about.
And yes, I do think masks look cool and since I got a $1,200 check and all the Government is asking is that I wear one I see no problem in complying. Especially, since they do offer some little bit of protection against the virus.
If it came down to the mark of the best or what have you then yes, I'd object, but even now I could simply claim I can't wear a mask due to disability or my religious beliefs and not have to wear one. I just looked damned cool wearing one.
What exactly are you protecting yourself and others from by wearing a face mask ?
The Chink Flu, the normal flu or anything else transmitted in the air. The example I brought up was dust storms. Why would I want one in a dust storm? Valley Fever is common around my parts. So wearing a mask would protect me from that.
Any cloth covering not rated to filter out smaller particles will cause what you exhale to not disperse as far. If you wear one that is rated to filter out smaller particles then you will be protected against and other people will be protected against any of those particles.
To say they aren't effective to some extent is a lie and goes against facts and science. So wearing one does help somewhat to lesson the infection rates of any respiratory illness or whatever the hell happens to be in the air. I also know people who suffer from allergies and wear them normally and it helps them a lot.
So, your point is general sweeping support of masks for dozens of different reasons? The topic is about masks regarding covid-19, not dust storms or allergies. How are you protecting others and/or yourself from covid-19 by wearing a mask?
