Not only that, it requires the good people to simultaneaouly become the bad people. Say there is an Orange club for people who love oranges and dislike apples and an Apple club for people who like apples and dislike oranges. Come up with any plausible scenario where the Orange club switches to apples at the same exact time the Apple club switches to oranges. It is literally impossible.
My favorite historical tidbit: Strom Thurmond did, indeed switch from democrat to republican.
