Apparently we are evil because we take money from working people. I'm pretty sure I allow them to live in my properties and they pay to LIVE there.... BUT THIS IS WRONG? How is this any different from a hotel? They pay to live in a place they don't own. If all Rent prices are abolished then I will SELL those properties and then they have no where to live... These People are Retarded

Sometime in Feb. I sent out a letter to all my renters stating that I would not be doing evictions or charging late fees until the state opens back up and that I would work with them if they would contact me. I did not get a single call but A very significant portion of the renters decided they didn't have to pay rent any longer and they have built up balances that they will likely not get ahead of.

I have 21 rental properties and as of 7/1 there is 26k owed to me in rent since Feb. I sent out notices a few days ago that anyone that owes 3x their rent will be evicted as soon as I can act on it. I got a flood of calls. One man told me "The president said you can't evict me." I said, "You may be right, but right now you are 2800 behind - do you think you'll catch that up before the court opens up?"

I guess I am the bad guy, but what's there to do - let them build up a debt that will never be paid? - give them all free rent while I spent nearly 14k in expenses during the same period? I don't know what I should do really. I feel bad for them.

EDIT: Full Disclosure - I would be fine for a very long time if none of them paid.
