Yeah, they do this to themselves. They bitch about how they can't afford "a 1 BR apartment" because it's $1500-2000/mo. Said apartment is downtown, and meant for middle/upper-middle class office workers. Of course you can't afford it as a student and part time worker, or a minimum wager, dipshit.
"And I'll never afford a house! They're like $500,000-800,000 REeEeeeE!" And of course they don't mean ALL houses, they mean the ones they want in select neighborhoods in or near the city. The ones that doctors and lawyers live in. I make near six figures, I can't even afford that shit rationally lol.
Also these same retards have $800/mo student loan payments on their $100k debt. So they literally already have a mortgage. Of course you can't afford two, idiot.
My first apartment was a studio inside an older large house that has been turned into a 4-plex. It was like $650/mo. It was fine. I walked 2 miles into downtown and 2 miles back to go to work because parking was $250/mo and public transit was $150/mo. Even in the winter. When I first moved into that place it was July and I didn't even have an AC.
I've owned two houses, including my current on 5 acres...both mortgages have been around $1,600.
Or I could have got that "great 1BR apartment" in the city, parking extra!
The $4000 pic doesn't show the homeless, the needles, the shit, the broken glass.
Or the fact that 4k a month only gets you a studio apartment that is about the size of the kitchen in that 150k house.
I know this guy in real life. A few times over.
In the 2000s, they all criticized how the suburban boxes all looked the same.
Well, in 2020, every single luxury urban box looks the same.
