I’m in a group text with friends from high school and one of the guys as of late has been linking a lot of tiktok videos. I said - half jokingly - ‘you better quit with the tiktok before the Chinese know every inch of your house’. His response was “And?” Alright, whatever, fucker. Have fun with that.
No, you should make him walk through that with you and tell you that every step is okay. Like he doesn't seem to care why China would even want some random dude's info.
What if it's the exact same reason everyone else on the internet wants it?
To sell it to someone else.
... But I'm sure China wouldn't sell just things regardless of how illegal it is to literally anyone for a fucking nickle, just to manipulate the market and piss everyone off. They've never done anything like that before. lololololol
no they don't. they still require paperwork each time and the data itself is limited. it sux, its bad, but its not even remotely comparable.
for tiktok the govt has direct data access. that means no paperwork, no calling the company, just open a window and query. that means they ask for specific features to be on the roadmap. did you know tiktok tests for know vulnerabilities to exploit on your phone? did you know it can execute code remotely? did you know that until 1 month ago (when they got caught) on iOS it would capture all copy pasted data even if it was copied on your mac laptop? (because iphones sync the copy paste with the mac, so if you copy pasted a password on your mac laptop and had tiktok on your iphone, china literally has your password.)
kids are told china is good communism, america evil. a lot of them consider the chinese govt having your data is no worse than Google or Facebook. they dont understand the difference in oversight and culture as theyre told to hate these companies. google should certainly be broken up and their sjws fired, but they're so far not officially government backed like tiktok is with direct data access.
if blm and others had their way eventually yea, the us would be the same.

He's already sold all his data to Winnie

Broke - hey bro they sell your info. (People say “who cares?”)
Woke - they want to infiltrate, divide and destroy this country, starting with bullshit cultural wedge issues.
You should delete American social media as well. The US government does the very same thing.
I deleted my Facebook (as in really, it's gone after the 30-day "waiting period").

It does feel kind of weird not knowing anything about my friends across the country, but whatever, benefits outweigh all else.
theres a browser extension for chrome for that
