When I showed up at basic training, it didn’t matter who I was, all that mattered was that I could shoot straight and whether I was capable of leading when it was my turn to be the platoon leader—that’s how it’s supposed to be.

Our military is supposed to be the ultimate meritocracy. It is simply unprecedented and wrong for any Commander in Chief to meddle in routine military matters at all, whether or not he has a personal vendetta against a Soldier who did his patriotic duty and told the truth—a Soldier who has been recommended for promotion by his superiors because of his performance. I won’t just sit by and let it happen, and neither should any of my colleagues. This goes far beyond any single military officer, it is about protecting a merit-based system from political corruption and unlawful retaliation. -Duckworth

..but Vindman didn't really tell the truth...his statements were riddled with his own biased opinions, interpretations, and was making connections that were not there...I 'member, I watched him speak in HD cameras right on his face...he wasn't called on during this crisis, he helped create it, he didn't rise up to defend, he knelt down to take aim for a political shot from the sidelines and got served instead

His immediate commander would have had to take action, Trump could not under UCMJ. Vindman is a total piece of shit. Vindman made this political IN uniform.

He should NOT have tarnished the uniform for his political actions while under oath testifying. His duties at the time were plain clothes.

I say his wearing the uniform to congress to shit on the CINC and mischaracterize the phone call for political purposes were a violation of the hatch act.

Duckworth to Block Promotions for 1,123 Military Officers Unless Esper Promotes Vindman

It sounds like blackmail to me.

Isn't promotion meant to reward contribution or achievement?

Revoke his commission for conduct unbecoming.

Alright, I’ll ask: what are Vindman’s accomplishments in pursuit of defending the Constitution that warrant promotion?

I think the technical words they are looking for regarding Vindman are "get bent".

Promoted right to the brig

I hope the promotions are blocked. That will piss off so many servicemen and force the purge of these evil rats. And while it will be delayed don't think for a moment that they won't eventually be promoted -- we take care of our own. And lastly if you know anything about serving in the armed forces you know that our governmental bureaucracy sucks; getting passed up on a promotion cycle is a reoccurring rite of passage that unfortunately never ends.

How do soldiers feel about Vindman?

Drum him out of the service. He does not represent the best of us.

He leaked outside his Chain of Command. He won't be promoted. Will he?
