245 years ago, 13 little colonies identified their need for independence from tyranny. They had already been fighting for a year, but on this date out Declaration of Independence was ratified and issued into Congress.

8000 colonist gave the ultimate sacrifice in combat, with 50,000 casualties for this independence. In the last 245 years we have continued to fight against types of tyranny all over the world with close to 3 million casualties.

Today is a time of reflection for our Great Nation, a time to honor all our fallen who have given all to uphold the words and values on a piece of engrossed parchment; signed by 56 Patriots so many years ago.
