Why do I feel like you were the one that downvoted me in this dead thread, bryan? But you didn't respond to my post? Does it hurt to know that you cannot argue your point? That your worldview may be foundationally wrong? Why did you come to this site if not to find out something new or perhaps change our minds to your way of thinking?
I wish you the best. The victim mentality is a tough cross to bear and is often taken on needlessly and to no good end.
Being the best nation on earth isn't a simple quality if life standard. Otherwise Monaco, some tax haven islands, the vatican, maybe Luxembourg and all these places would be the best nations in Earth. These types of nations though could never be leaders in industry or consistently change the course of civilization for the better as the US has done. Why? I assume it is obvious. No these nations and their wealth exist as a byproduct of nations like the US.
I wouldn't say also that countries that have benefited from the US's role in keeping the seas open and those which have relied on the US military for their own defense are better even. I agree that they should be paying more and thanks to Trump things are overwhelmingly finally moving in that direction.
I guess, I'm wondering if you are just as likely to say that the reason these countries are so great is because of the US. Why not say then that the US must be such a great country that even other countries owe their greatness largely the the US?
Nah, USA #1
Everyone else #2
