Can't say that myself I've never travelled to those places. Those societies obviously have even stronger senses of nationalism as a whole than the US. But to say the standard of living is better is tricky. look at America's middle and upper classes. Those countries you named would not make the average person prosper and get rich as a young person.

I'm not saying those people don't live well. But there are alot more Americans that live way better than them. I build rich peoples homes. I can see how many people in my small part of our country are enormously wealthy. And many of them earned that money it wasn't handed down.

Those opportunities are less plentiful elsewhere

I've always envied people who as a whole, are more proud of their country. If I go back to see my dad's family in Armenia, I'd see people that were all really conservative family structured people who are really really nationalistic. Nearly all of them.

In America half our population seems to be ashamed. Which is pretty sad. But our good half is the best people in the world.
