Since my kids were small they had to listen to me read them the Declaration of Independence before they could got rolling with sparklers every 4th of July.
My 27-year-old daughter just texted me from where she now lives in NYC and said she's reading the Declaration today.
Me too. Now she is inspiring me.

We took our kids to Jockey Hollow (Morristown National Historical Park) today in NJ to walk the trails where the Continental Army encamped during the winters of 1779-1780, 1780-1781 and 1781-1782. 1200 acres of undisturbed woods, great for reflection on the sacrifices they made, and the strategic genius of Washington as a general.
