Yeah, while I understand the laws as they exist, I don't see what the big problem with "brandishing" is.

It only makes sense that you'd want to first show a firearm to tell the other person don't attempt a physical attack unless you want to get shot. It's the same thing animals do when they bare their teeth or claws.

The way we have it, firearms aren't doing the job of keeping things civil through deterrence. The laws have turned them into "kill only" tools...perhaps that was intentional.
