"Independence Day".

Saying, "happy 4th" means nothing.

Absolutely correct. Remember the day, not the date.

We don't say "Merry 25th of December" or "Happy Last Thursday of November"

It's def Independence Day, not July 4th.

Relax a bit. I say "Happy 4th" all the time. Everyone knows what it means.

Even Jefferson on his deathbed said, "Is it the 4th?" not, "Is it independence day?"

These were said to be his last words.
