I have a friend who says almost the exact same shit. I've known the guy for almost 30 years so I know he believes himself, but IMO this mentality of person gets a 1 step removed narrative: someone they talk to parrots MSM, frames the situation, they go and check out the tweet & at that point might as well have just CNN. I've gotten them to acknowledge the "other" side is dumb af; but idk how to finish the sale without drawn out history lessons that would probably fall on deaf ears
I mentioned that Wolf (governor, D-PA) and his 'tranny' (PA Dept. of Health) went too far issuing an outside mask order in July in North Eastern PA.
We got into a minor disagreement and I told him later, I would love to get his number.
He arrived later, we spoke for a bit (mostly the same casual talk we had before when I would see him) and I asked him these two questions.
These questions gauge a person's ability to reason, as well as their "news" intake.
Do men menstruate?
Did Trump call Nazis "very fine people."
His answers:
"Well....I recently became aware of the trans movement...I am not up to speed on everything, completely."
His response after I told him what he said was bigoted because trans-men can still menstruate.
In a nutshell..."from what I know of trump, it woulsnt surprise me if he said that."
This was his response after I told him I am part of an outreach program (Religion of Poop LLC) and wanted to present the idea that Trump isnt that bad and that the media portrays him worsr than he actually is.
Sorry for the typos, I can't read past 2 paragraphs in because the screen bounces back up to the top in mobile.
Tell him to give you a numbered list of the exact things Trump has said to "divide the country". Then, give him 3 days to actually find video or audio proof. When he comes back with nothing, educate him on how the media manipulates public sentiment even if you're NOT watching it.
I tell people that I don't care if we have a racist, hateful, mean, uncouth, loudmouth president. (I know President Trump is none of those things anyway.) I say that so that they cannot use it as a weapon. I truly don't care about the President's character; I care if his actions make America better. That's it.
I know people want a nice guy, well spoken, dad figure, etc. I understand that, but those reasons are not why I voted for him. (They were a bonus, of course).
His policies and actions have directly made my life better.

this conversation started over the 'rona.

I don't disapprove of this messaging, and I sometimes use it, it just depends on the person.
I use this on more "intellectual" types, not types of what I posted.
