Even if he did betray Trump, the result is the same with Trump winning. He’d steal part of the black vote and some from the left. He sure as hell isn't stealing many Trump supporters, though I’d be happy if he ran to kill the left’s chances.
We’ll all have to see, but it’s at least a reasonable strategy. Left’s pushing BLM to get the black vote and the guilted fragile white vote. Kanye’s at least getting some of the black vote, and if you don’t vote for him that means you’re racist to the crazies, so he’ll get some too. In addition to some fans I guess.
I can’t see him actually wanted to be president. It’d be a step down for him in terms of pay and lifestyle. It’s a shitty job no matter who does it. Kanye’s life is way better than Trump’s right now and over the past 4 years. John Stewart and Colbert could have easily used their Daily Show momentum back in the day to be president too, but they didn’t because it’s a shitty job and their lives and paychecks were better. A lot of celebs could have but didn’t because it’s a shitty gig by comparison. Celebs are mostly loved, presidents are mostly hated.
The debates would be glorious though. Kanye beats Biden on all black and social justice issues, flat out. How the fuck could Biden with a straight face say anything at all to him? BLM is arguing we need black leadership and it’s time for whites to be quiet. Biden’s supporting them and all that nonsense. He can’t suggest he’d better represent blacks than an actual prominent black that’s by all accounts pretty black. Kanye’d probably be briefed by Trump’s team and go in swinging with all the laws Biden signed that put blacks in jail.
This is a big play, and an unexpected play, but if it plays out, it’s going to be one for the history books.
I feel like nobody really remembers how loved Trump was before his candidacy. The man was everywhere, he had a gigantic hit TV show, his catchphrase was uttered by everybody in the world at some point, and there wasn't one word of a scandal ever mentioned. Then he ran against the Killton dynasty and suddenly he's public enemy number one, persona non grata. He gave up that celebrity and acceptance to literally make the country he loves great again, and has taken every hit on the chin and kept walking. He's been so strong that one - ONE - off moment in his entire presidency is jumped on by every major news outlet to try and paint him in a defeated light, as if a person that sleeps two to four hours a night and is full of energy all day long isn't expected to crash at least once.

Personally I think we need every vote for Trump. I do hope you are right though.
