Not sure if you've seen the video but this clearly wasn't a case of a panicked driver avoiding the mob, it was a split second decision to avoid hitting a roadblock. The guy probably didn't even see the people behind the van.
Seattle police are responsible for this... they closed the interstate instead of removing the roadblock... if this was Trump supporters blocking the interstate there would have been tanks and apaches called in!

You've absolutely not seen the video. You're not wrong, if a car is coming, get out of the way. But the car is travelling fast around a curved part of the highway and the vehicles blocking the road are sideways so the lights on his car wouldn't have reflected off the side of the vehicles until it was too late to slow down, which is what we saw happen, he immediately reacts and avoids the van and there's people placed behind it.
The people also very clearly were running to get out of the way in this situation.
