He was a rich, somewhat successful NFL Quarterback and he really could have had his pick of women. Nobody would have had a second thought about it if he decided to have a legendary harem with dozens of attractive women. He could have gone the George Clooney route and not even "settled down" until he was well past middle age.

The honest truth is that in terms of looks she's a dime a dozen, there's millions of broads like her in literally any city that has an NFL team so why the fuck he'd simp for this is a mystery
