This is why I think governments went into panic mode initially, their own intelligence agencies were drawing the conclusion that this was an Chinese attack. When it was coupled with loads of "fear mongering" modules by "experts" it was a fire once effort by the Chicoms to destabilize world economies.

The thing is with those in power, they can't admit they made a mistake, so when something is wrong their instinct is to double down and not reverse course. This instinct has been hijacked by leftists for their own political aims. China is laughing now because they might get a twofer out of this.
