Going blue seems to be an inevitable result of very high populations coming together in a relatively small area. Can anyone point out a major US city that is red? Every big city I can think of is blue and it might have something to do with scarcity of resources (like jobs) and the resulting government dependency of millions of residents who can't compete.

Can confirm. The NYC network affiliates' local news broadcasts and News 12 have been kissing both their asses since the beginning. In my personal experience, the propaganda works better with Cuomo than it does DeBlasio. Most left-leaning people I speak to seem to think that Cuomo is doing a good job while DeBlasio is blowing it completely. This is in the suburbs so IDK what the true NYC liberals think, but NYC politics is still followed to some extent up here due to the TV networks and many people working in the city.
