Oh, and the bitching on the Next Door app continues, as the positive threads get removed steadily, to be replaced by more bitching.
In my area, most of the usual shows were canceled, and the bars were closed, so people held their own little displays, and they were cheered on by the neighbors. If you didn't watch, and see that the positive threads from people who enjoyed the display and love our country (seriously, one started by an immigrant simply saying she was glad to be here, no mention of fireworks, was removed). There were some big booms that set off car alarms, but it did not go late. It was all over well before 10.
To hear the Karens, their poor animals suffered, the Vietnam vets got PTSD all over again, and the criminals were running wild. Seriously, they used the word "criminals."
I wonder if somebody isn't exaggerating just a wee bit.
I live in a small pipsqueak town in a Philly suburb and even my area was inundated with fireworks displays all around me. Wayyyyyy more than the past Independence days.
Can’t click through to FB since I don’t have an account but I also went to a big ol block party last night that got reported on Nextdoor lol. Tons of kids and families and even a based Indian family that eventually poured out of a house to join. It was awesome!
It was pretty awesome to see. Living here you never really know what to expect. Seeing everyone out, celebrating this great country, was honestly somewhat of a relief.
I felt the same way. And, at the party I was at, at the tail end of the night after too many drinks people were coming out as Trump supporters and gun owners, etc. it was a really funny shock!
I love this. Happy 4th 😍
