As a black woman surrounded by liberals I've never felt able to speak out without being completely alienated by friends, as I don't see politics as something worthy of making-or-breaking friendships. Hell, I didn't even vote last year.
But going through these posts has made me feel more connected to America and why we need to protect it from this attack on liberties and freedom worldwide. We need to be reminded of our responsibility to our country, as well as to ourselves.
See you at the polls!
I hope that one day no one has to qualify their opinions by starting them with "As a ..."
I know it's useful to box in our ideological opponents, but among ourselves it is very sad. That's 'their' way of speaking and thinking and we all agree that 'their' way is a great wrong. A grave injustice to the most vulnerable minority: The individual.
We are all Americans. We are riding on the wings of eagles with the most beautiful flag ever conceived fluttering behind us as we soar. All ready to descend upon tyranny for the sake of any one individual. For their salvation is our own.
I completely agree with that sentiment. It's like you have to prove that you're worthy of having an opinion on the matter. I think the reason I said it was to try to appeal to some who may assume the identity of a "conservative" person, and show that it is not always the case. I just want to let anyone who may be on the fence of being red-pilled see that "hey, it's OK to be black and actually support America".
I love you!
no u <3
KEK, hug
I’ll take the opposite side and say I appreciate it. Without people like Candace or yourself speaking out, it is easy to get the impression that black people do not even see this as their country.
Especially since the media is only going to highlight the haters. Love you, and thanks. 🙏
Edit: I read a story about a black patriot recently, check it out. You have no idea how much we white Americans love seeing this kind of stuff. 🇺🇸
That's a good way to think about it. <3
My father is a vet, I could TOTALLY see him doing the same thing as the man in the article!
