Some advice from a fellow historian: look into ph.d programs instead, and find historians you enjoy first and where they teach, and apply there.
I can recommend Brown - even though they are highly cucked - their history dept is top notch if looking to do research in American (particularly early American) areas. They’re program is basically built on the work of Gordon Wood (who taught there), who was himself taught by Bernard Bailyn (arguably two of the best historians when it comes to early American history). College of William and Mary is also a great option. Masters won’t get you much in all honesty, in regards to history. PhD and you’ll at least be able to be a professor and put out solid research not in the new trendy “social history,” or “Atlantic history,” trends
I just submitted my application for masters classes. I almost spit my beer out when I saw gender studies. I thought it was just a joke we all make. It really is a thing.
only thing I can think of is either rich parents, or they stay profressional students as long as fucking possible so they can keep taking loans out on bullshit degrees

I did mine online at American Military University. Nothing but history. No extraneous crap.
