Kanye West posts ONE tweet. ONE ambiguous tweet.

And there are articles about it on (in no particular order):

NYPost, USAToday, Politico, Reason, Complex, Jezebel, Heavy, PJMedia, Forbes, ABC, FOX, The Wrap, Vogue, Epoch Times, Washington Post, Socialite Life, Pop Sugar, Salon, Bloomberg, CNN, Buzzfeed, Economic Times, BBC, Teen Vogue, ET Online, NC Daily News, New York Times, Washington Times, US Magazine, Business Insider, Deadline, Infowars, The Mirror, The Independent, The LA Times, The Guardian, People, NBC, Variety, and Hollywood Gossip. No doubt there are many many others.

And of course Reddit, Twitter and Facebook have doubtless exploded into a frenzy (but I don't use them so that's just a guess)

Even here it's getting a staggering amount of traction.

All based on a single ambiguous tweet.

Am I the only one who thinks it's insane?

I absolutely agree.

I've taught the same rule to my wife ... she's having some minor trouble getting on top of it, but she's getting there. :)

It's twitter real. Not real real. Said so at the outset.

Once it's real real. I'll give it more attention (still don't have an answer how the hell the electoral college would handle 'write-in' candidates - and I've been digging - any civics wonks out there?).

The disproportionate response is probably entirely because of Kanyes following count on twitter, and prominent association (and one may dare say, friendliness!) with the Trump admin. So all that 'influencer' clout that the left is all about is suddenly against Biden, and its all by a black man so they cant use the racial angle in response either.

That's panic stations. And being a mass of controlled fabricated fake-news, the panic is pushed to all of them at once. Which is then substantive and coordinated enough to make it to real news - anything the fake news pushes hard all at once is a story irrespective of the content of the actual story.

When the insane is the new normal 🤡

You're not alone. I've just learned to accept that the hive likes to buzz at dumb shit like this from time to time.

Nothing wrong with many of us. I'm like yawn. Others are like echo chambers, with audio amplifiers.

I think it’s reasonable to report it as news.

I think it would be reasonable to report it as news if it were clear what he's saying.

But at the moment it boils down to "Kanye tweeted this ... and we don't know what he means"

have to do it to distract people from real problems

There are so many reasons for the media to run with this.

Just a few are to lessen the impact of Trump’s great speeches 7/3 + 7/4 and to hide Biden’s horrible 7/4 comments. Distract from the arrest of Ghislaine Maxwell. Try to convince blacks that Kayne doesn’t support Trump...

Very true.

I don't think the spin they put on his 4th speech reached anyone but those who are already ideologically corrupted anyway.

How much of this is astroturf and how much is people taking up the astroturf? Because I'm sure some are outraged genuinely in their sad little worlds, but there's a shill army between all of these outlets, and at this point, I have no estimation of how active it is.
