A friend of mine was murdered senselessly driving home from Detroit years ago, i took the same drive pretty frequently while younger without a care in the world. I got in touch with his parents and fundraised a modest amount of money to add to reward for tips and such, they ended up catching the guy, random senseless carjacking. This effected me for a long time and that sense of frustration that i couldn't change it, I knew his parents were suffering but it wasn't until i became a parent myself that i truly understood.

A lot of these kids out protesting are just bored shouting platitudes, they will never understand actual trauma, they're too self absorbed and self medicating their "generalized anxiety", crying over student loans and relishing in the Instagram fodder. But to think there are grown ass "Leaders" "Journalists" out stoking this at this point is sickening, There is no excuse for that, they are all legitimately complicit. Sure Police can be dicks but we need police, and we need police who can't be ordered to stand down for the sake of optics and political theater.
