The BigCorp I work for uses McAfee site filtering and it appears McAfee has flagged this site as problematic.

Of course I can still get to reddit which has much worse stuff and actual porn, but a site that supports our president? Forbidden!

Wow. That’s really crazy that they permit Reddit, while denying this one. There’s some awful stuff there!

ask BigCorp why they blocked .win but not an actual rape and child porn site like Reddit

.... from an anonymous account.

Make sure to link some strugglefucking posts in your request, OP.

Definitely write to the IT admin and get them to ban Reddit also. They probably haven't banned it yet because they like to go on it, so if that is the case write to their bosses and say

"I have witnessed a lot of disturbing content on screens in the IT department. I don't want to name names, but suffice it to say, a lot of extremist and violent imagery is being viewed on Reddit.com. As someone who values a safe and productive work environment, I suggest we add reddit to the ban list."

Probably their firewall rule and not macafee software.

ZacPetkanas [S] 8 points ago +8 / -0

No. Go to https://trustedsource.org and check for yourself. It's McAfee categorizing this site.

I just verified that it's not my BigCorp's IT department by checking the McAfee site for the source of the filter list. trustedsource.org

Does it block all ".win" sites? The Win top level domain is usually reserved for gambling sites, which is why they may blanket block them.

3
ZacPetkanas [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

No. And as you can see from the screenshot, it's not complaining about gambling

Send a screen shot to the real mcafee. A very funny character to say the least.

EvanGRogers 13 points ago +13 / -0

He openly admits he hates that company, iirc

11
ColbyP 11 points ago +11 / -0

McAfee openly admits nobody should use any of his company's services because he knows for a fact they're utter garbage and don't actually protect you.

I thought that too

Most IT filter/firewall managers just use the supplied blacklist from their provider. I'd imagine if you have a dedicated person and asked them nicely, they would whitelist thedonald.

How many conservative business owners only hire conservatives? If i’m ever in a position to hire people, I will filter people out by political opinion. SJWs ruin everything. More than that, they turn everything into a totalitarian shit show.

4
Barbs 4 points ago +5 / -1

A healthy business has a good balance of both. Jordan Peterson explains it way better than I can (it’s his theory) but the idea is that the leftists are the free thinkers who always dream up “possibilities,” while the conservatives are very hierarchical and can set up effective management structures for long-term success.

A business needs to anticipate the future, yet manage the present effectively to become successful. If you’re lacking in either of these areas your business will suffer.

That’s why “conservative” corporations go stale over time and don’t innovate much, and “leftist” corporations get woke and go broke.

2
trumpizkewl 2 points ago +2 / -0

I know what you mean but there are plenty of creative-brained non-leftists at the moment. When the "possibilities" are dreamed by endless virtue signaling, riot-supporting, anti-speech, totalitarian-minded assholes, etc. I'll take a hard pass.

I feel like this is more a 'young vs. old' approach. A bunch of stodgy old people aren't going to be in tune with changing trends and be able to embrace things, while a company of just stupid young people will be wildly rocking back and forth without any stability like a ship without a keel.

You know, I was just arguing with someone the other day. I was saying that all this censorship of conservatives on social media would eventually spread to ISPs. This may not be an ISP blocking the site, but its still a 'muh private company' deciding which websites can and cannot be accessed.

I wish that I had been wrong.

Find a socks proxy and use it intrabrowser.

Here’s a thought... don’t use the corporate computer. What you visit is always logged and can be used against you.

I always use my assigned tablet to access thedonald. I keep an icon on my homescreen. Let them see, know that we are not silent any longer!!

Wrongthink is banned at your workplace, please try again later

pileongomer 5 points ago +5 / -0

this isnt your company's fault, they are just taking the proxy vendor's categories and blocking them. in the case of cisco, submit a ticket to remove the site from those categories. you can't self-proxy or vpn around these sites at big firms thise sites are blocked too. trust me, depending on where you work you dont want to be on the list of folks visiting these sites any more than you want to be on a campaign contribution list for gop candidates. use your phone, and configure manual dns options on the work wifi for 1.1.1.1 and 9.9.9.9 AND use a personal always-on vpn. if you work for a free company, ask them to whitelist the url. this is another reason to get the whole community behind a common domain naming structure so this doesnt have to be done everytime we add a new community. also NOT being in a category will also get you blocked at most big shops, so trying to anon the url's wont help. you need to control the category assigned to the site and stay on the base URL for all content.

Be careful what you do on the corporate network... it's much easier for them to fire you for wrongthink if they can justify it with your "personal use of company resources."

You're goddamn right.

You can probably get around this by using the google translate service. Type the website into the text box to be translated, choose language as spanish and translate to english. Click the link that pops up and you should be viewing your website through the google server.

Easy bypass, or at least it used to be back in the day.

2
Pumpingiron_Patriot 2 points ago +2 / -0

I would tweet that out to John Macafee. He is not the owner anymore, but he is based AF.

Found your security issue. McAfee, that shit is basically legal malware

1
coyotex86 1 point ago +1 / -0

this is not a systematic thing is a manual block done by the network security\proxy admin of your domain

Get the Opera browser. Open a new private tab. Turn on the VPN on it. Profit.
