A figure that often gets overlooked is how many new wars Trump has entered into: 0.

Just look at how brilliantly he handled the situation with North Korea. Like he said, if a Democrat were President, the US would be at war with North Korea right now. The same goes for Russia.

And personally, i think its good that he has good relations with Putin and Ji Ji Ping. It means that as long as he is President, no wars will be fought among the world's mega powers.

Lefties become visibly uncomfortable with themselves when I bring this up. I get to speak a paragraph exhibiting well grounded values prioritization, saying anti-war is my #1 issue and priority for a US POTUS... and they're pretty much left with nothing to say - they try a little but really they're left looking like warmongers without anyone accusing them of it. They're FORCED to admit Trump has done something remarkably, outstandingly positive.

Want to twist the knife? Remind them Hillary campaigned on sustaining our wars... Obama had only set her up for the next volley, after getting elected TWICE because he sounded more anti-war than his republican challengers. We were all duped.

mightiest_m 30 points ago +30 / -0

Nah I still just get "Buh he tried to start WW3, killing poor defenceless Iranian minding his own business, and he's friends with North Korea and a puppet for Putin so we're going to end up in war with Russia too"

29
BattleToad8999 29 points ago +29 / -0

Yep, exactly. I remind them the war machine is well known for masterfully convincing performances to dupe the american people into consenting to the creation and sustaining of war efforts... crimes against humanity... THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING. Call it whatever you want, CALL IT LUCK I DONT GIVE A DAMN, the fact is Trump is our best peacetime POTUS in an extremely long time and we better count our blessings.

because he sounded more anti-war than his Republican Challengers.

It wasnt hard to sound less of a neocon warhawk pos than mccain... l mean who the fuck walks around the senate openly singing bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran?

Remember, so many people panicking over Trump going to start WW3 or going to press the nuke button blah blah. Some conservative pundits try to defend Trump by saying he is implementing "madman theory" to prevent wars.

Never onced believed it. I personally think Trump has become predictable.

Trump will never start a new major war because he knows his base. And he is drunk with power... power of tariffs/economic pressure.. that is. 😁

Mk18_Mod0 20 points ago +20 / -0

And now the media is screeching because he wants to get us out of an endless war in Afghanistan. The same people that screeched and called Bush a war monger for 8 years. Honk honk.

14
bobobob 14 points ago +14 / -0

That's why the phony "Russian bounty on US soldiers in Afghanistan" story was spread throughout the media. They wanted to sour the deal to keep us in Afghanistan forever.

5
mnguy12000 5 points ago +5 / -0

Well the funny thing is, in the a normal persons mind, this would just support Trumps exit from that shithole. But no, they spin it around, and try and lay blame. My God. This would be the biggest reason TO GET OUR TROOPS HOME ASAP. Clown world indeed.

4
Mk18_Mod0 4 points ago +4 / -0

man it honestly blows my mind. They've come full-circle. Honk.

4
GorillaWarfare 4 points ago +4 / -0

That's one that should be a big clue that the "intelligence community" is spreading bullshit to keep us stuck in endless wars. Why the absolute fuck would Russia, currently hurting financially due to Saudis tanking the price of oil, be paying the Taliban for something (killing Americans) that they're already trying to do for free?

13
mightiest_m 13 points ago +13 / -0

Yea totally. Mad that Democrats have become the "Pro Any War" party.

If people weren't so stuck up their own ass then this whole bounties "leak" should be a major redpill.

Trump wants to escalate pulling out of Afghanistan so suddenly "intelligence" is "leaked" to MSM that Russia is paying Taliban bounties to hunt Americans.. So obviously Trump is incompetent and letting Americans die for not escalating conflict there and starting war with Russia 🙄

Such transparently obvious Bullshit, as the MSM and intelligence both just serve the Establishment and Military Industrial complex now who are DESPERATE for forever wars in NK, Russia and Afghanistan. They HATE Trump for de-escalating wars - it's really cutting into their profits.

We've had several of these. Lincoln, for all of his virtues, badly damaged our Republic in his efforts to win the civil war. He may not have had any choice, but the consequences remain.

FDR did have a choice and chose to exacerbate the damage.

Then basically every president after FDR except Eisenhower, (maybe) Regan and Trump has contributed majorly to that erosion.

9
BunnyPicnic 9 points ago +9 / -0

Keep your friends close but your enemies closer. Nobody wanted us to be buddy buddy with Russia. But we also don't want to be on their shit list, because Russia could potentially pose a threat to the entire world, like half of the last century. I'm glad we know what they are doing and building.

Korea and even more, China, is a different story. NK is odd because you don't get any media from there, so the American public doesn't see what's going on there. China, I believe, will be at war with us by decades end, unless we can keep conservatives in office. If we could just eliminate every Chicom, then I'd have no problem with the other billion Chinese people. I actually feel pretty bad for them. They are controlled by the minority over there.

2
NvJohansson 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yup, the Chinese minority control everything pertaining to China. The Chinese govt flood problem areas with population. When's the last time you heard the words free Tibet? Once that Railroad from China to Tibet was completed, that was it for them. Hundreds of thousands of Han, under order of the CCP, just flooded in to the place and now control every senior position of government education medicine law enforcement etc even though theyre about 6% of the population.

Now that a bridge has been built between mainland China and Hong Kong, expect the same results as Tibet in a few years from now.

1
Inocentz 1 point ago +1 / -0

Even with Conservatives in office a war with China is likely. Asia right now looks a lot like Europe before the world wars with all the coalitions and alliance chains.

9
magnokor 9 points ago +9 / -0

He prepares for war, that means there is less of a chance there will be a war.

He also, unlike his four predecessors, says he would fight to win a war.

3
DaLaohu 3 points ago +3 / -0

And everybody knows he will win. Trump is a winner. He uses the same winning strategy champion fighters do: Only take fights you know you will win. Trump says this himself: He doesn't do anything unless he knows he can succeed. So, if a country does happen to see Trump fighting back, they know they're dead.

Also, this strategy of only playing winning moves is an accurate predictor and interpreter of Trump's actions. Watch him with this in mind.

7
jiujiujiu 7 points ago +10 / -3

Maybe Jimmy Carter?

10
Toohershat 10 points ago +10 / -0

Yeah maybe Carter and Trump are similar on being anti-war and pro-peace. However, the similarities end there. Carter had no idea how to handle foreign hostile powers. Trump on the other hand uses his powerful position to challenge rival regimes by calling them out via the press and Twitter. This is not a joke, look at how he handled Kim by playing good cop, bad cop right before everyone's eyes. Look at how he got the NATO nations to cough up more money exactly how Obama tried and failed to do.

Trump absolutely understands the concept of Peace Through Strength better than any other president in history. Take a look war hero Eisenhower. Late in his life he lamented the arms industry, but he was president at the time! He didn't really know what to do about it even though he was POTUS and had decades of military service under his belt. I just think all these experienced military, business, and bureaucrat men don't see the big picture, but Trump does.

Foreign Wars between foreign countries are not our problem nor any of our president's problem. As for Jimmy Carter, nice guy but weak ass president. He was the first president to ever be stonewalled and sabotage by the swamp. His CIA director was HW Bush, who basically kept him in the dark about everything and anything. Even told him right to his face you're on a need-to-know basis, and curiosity does not fill that criteria. Bush made sure the hostages weren't released under Carter because he was running as VP for Reagan. Swamp is swamp no matter the party. I don't see any other president besides Trump who could have endured what he has from the deep state for the last three and a half years and still be sitting at the Resolute desk.

When Iran shot down our drone...I was thinking oh shit. He we go, but he said the most Presidential thing ever. "It was a drone, no human life was lost" This man understands what war does, for those saying would start WW3 are projecting THEIR wants. This mans loves the USA citizens too much to start a war over a unmanned drone.

Imagine thinking that trying to forge a workable relationship with N.K is a bad thing.

Imagine thinking that trying to re-establish a relationship with 2 of your enemies is a bad thing.

Imagine thinking that pulling out troops and trying to stabilize the circus that is the Middle-East WITHOUT the use of force is a bad thing.

Peace never was so lame.

Trump knows how to play games and he also knows that Putin and XI love to play them as well...

However their isn't much Trump can do bout China trying to outplay the whole planet. He needs some help...

That's the whole reason neocon warmongers like Bolton and Mattis keep backstabbing him. They want him to continue the Bush/Obama legacy of wasting American blood and treasure to enrich defense contractors and protect Saudi oil money.

See also the madness in Syria. The only reason Russia is even there is to block the Saudis from building a pipeline. Under any other President, it would have been Iraq 2.0 to defend the petrodollar.

There is no reason to look at Russia or Iran or North Korea as an enemy if they can be used as an asset. It is bad diplomacy to just go make enemies for the sake of it.

Trump is the first president in a couple generations that is anti-war. I love him for that alone. I just wish he would put Israel on blast for taking Syrian territory.

The neo con opposition to Trump just proves how thoroughly those people don't give a single fuck about the American people. They can cloak their opposition to him in whatever florid language and righteous sounding rhetoric they want, but the facts speak for themselves: They jumped at the chance to join the Trump admin, if it meant the chance to push Trump towards being a soulless warmonger just like them.

Wouldnt say he is pro-peace as in weak to use military force. He just cares about the people he has to send off to carry out military action.

There has been no reason for America to go to war with Russia for decades. NK is no threat to anyone but itself and the UN signed up to protect SK. It's just with everything else America is left to do all the heavy lifting.

1
HumblePig 1 point ago +1 / -0

I also love how we're not at war with NK but we're not kissing their ass; Trump's mocked him, Trump brought a NK refugee as a guest of honor to one of his SOTU, and has still remained in peaceful negotiations, has still de-nuked them.

I hate NK. They are evil, with modern day concentration camps and modern day slavery. But I don't hate it enough to send other men and other people's money to war to fight that battle; we must save that for when we all are threatened, not just when we're disgusted or offended.

H_Guderian 1 point ago +1 / -0

Hmm, I would debate this maybe. He's certainly Anti-War, but if your have an Iranian douchebag running around plotting attacks, well Trump did dronestrike that fucker and that isn't Peaceful. Its that "Walk quietly and carry a big stick."

Early American isolationist philosophy hinged on the idea that we'd still be very strong, but since we never fucked around with anyone else you'd have the full might of America applied to even little conflicts. ie, look at Japan in WW2, they thought they could make an attack and then immediately sue for peace. But we didn't take that peacefully.

I think Trump wants to get us back to that sort of policy. bring everyone home so that if something DOES happen we wouldn't have a dozen or more commitments keeping our hands tied.

1
TweeterInChief 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes, but I do wish he’d randomly drop a bomb on Iran’s oil fields ever once in a while, just to remind them of their place.

1
Klcbva 1 point ago +1 / -0

Trump is a one-man army. He figures out how to win without firing a shot.

1
Light_HIV_Effect 1 point ago +1 / -0

The war caucus (left and right) are super pissed when they didn't get their wars, when they secretly wanted one with Syria, Iran, N.Korea, Russia, China. They figured Bolton would steer him that direction, despite Trump being vocal and catching shit from his generals about leaving Afghanistan and Iraq.

I'm really tired of Obama being held on some pedestal by the same people that hated Bush for going to war. You see touches of people waking up when they mention the drone strikes, but that's it. It's all just politics though. You can't give Trump a win for anything, because the other team did it.

Think how much we could get done if there wasn't this bullshit Trump hate that didn't exist before. We'd be out of all these wars, the UN/EU would be doing it's own funding and security, Immigration might have actually been solved and we could actually figure out healthcare if we didn't have this flood of people sapping the system illegally.
