I'm a stay at home dad. We homeschool. We have a nice 50 acre homestead/farm. Sometimes people laugh when they find this out. Somehow they think it makes me less of a man.
I absolutely love it. I know exactly what they are being taught. They are under the watchful eye of a male role model constantly keeping them safe. They will never have to experience metal detectors and school shooter drills.
We go on field trips and day trips and vacations whenever we feel like it. They are way ahead in school and will probably have 2 years of college finished by the time they turn 18.
You are living the dream! I also grew up on a farm and really want that for my kids. Does your property generate income? Any advice on how to swing that?
It's slow going to start. Still not making much if any money in with it yet. Once the youngest get a little older I'll have time to do more. perennial crops and permaculture methods are a good start. I also have a logging operation and sawmill. Listen to Jack Spirko podcast TSP. He has tons of episodes on how to do it.
