I'm not sure about taking away welfare benefits for life but I would be 100% in favor of taking away any federally funded or guaranteed school loans such as the Stafford Loan and Pell Grants. Any loans not repaid should be immediately repaid, although I'd allow structured repayment but absolutely no loan deferments or grace periods. If you want the American people to secure your loan through government, than rioting, vandalizing and looting should result in the loss of such loans. A bratty kid should not be able at once to tear down the successes of others, attack state and federal statues/landmarks/buildings and expect taxpayers to just back their student loans.
Have a heart they will say, like the one the rioter had for the business owner, or the taxpayers who've been bankrolling their entire existence? Bring back consequences, maybe some gratitude will follow (not holding my breath).
