He was downloading research material from a university network, much of which was paid for with public funds. These are the common network accessible items that any person who is attending a university has access to. You are correct in that he was stealing, but you have attributed far to much malice to his actions and have created a narrative without proof. “”His” take on censorship, which probably meant”.

I don't remember him supporting censorship at all. Not saying you are wrong, but I just haven't seen it. One of the nicest takes he had was being anti-establishment and fighting head on the patriot act and SOPA craziness. At least on that he would be aligned with us.
