My grandfather worked in lumber camps starting at the age of 14....His father worked coal mines starting at the age of 9. I started working at the age of 14 as a dishwasher. Not hard labor...but a job. Worked at a department store coffee shop. Yeah they had those back in the last century. .

It is illegal immigration that have destroyed the work ethic here in America. McDonalds was not a career, but to teach one how to work. Those jobs get taken by illegals instead of America's teenagers. Sad!
