A father learns about God by being a father. You can't be a father without a woman and the best relationship is husband and wife.
You also learn about God's grace through serving your wife. It can be very very hard, but if you are honest you'll realize its very very hard for God not to flick you off the planet like a flea (aka get what you deserve) when you complain, are selfish, hypocritical, etc.)
So yeah broken families are the reason, but even more so broken relationships with our heavenly father are the root cause of that.
