No fun stories really. I don't believe it's controversial to like our country and respect the Constitution.

Fuck the toxic liberal ideology and all it's done to this country

Starting your political voting career strong. Some of us were voting for Marxists at your age.

I feel so fortunate that I have the opportunity to vote for arguably the greatest President the USA has ever had. It makes me so daggum proud.

Good for you man. It took a lot of us here much longer to figure everything out. Part of that is just access to more information now, but still there are tons of people your age (shit, and my age too) with their head up their ass.

11
Mk18_Mod0 11 points ago +11 / -0

What's the old saying though?

If you're not a liberal in your 20s you have no heart.

If you're not a conservative in your 30s you have no brain.

Something like that.

10
mechdork 10 points ago +10 / -0

I guess I never had a heart then. I was the token poor kid who got free tuition at a private liberal arts high school.

Even back then I saw through their bullshit.

Any time I had an assignment where I had to defend my opinion of something I never wasted my time... just took the F because it just wasn't worth the backlash.

I still graduated with a 3.6 gpa, but was so burned out I ended up turning down a full engineering scholarship.

10
Mk18_Mod0 10 points ago +10 / -0

I was in a similar situation. Full biomedical engineering scholarship, had to continually write papers on systemic racism and perpetuation of rape culture, until I finally stood up and walked out. Never graduated. Fuck those crazy indoctrination camps.

4
KnightsofReee 4 points ago +4 / -0

Honestly I think you got to be pretty heartless to be a liberal. A liberal sees themselves as the ultimate arbiter of morality. They think they have the right to assign who is deserving of the profits of their labor and have no qualms ruining the livelihood of someone who disagrees with them or stands in the way of their goals. There is no compassion in coercion.

4

Hm. I know there is a difference between absentee voting and mail in voting but I do not understand the difference. I might just make the 3 hour drive home to vote in person.

I'm still registered nonpartisan, but only because my state has open primaries. In WV you can choose what primary ballot you want if you're registered as nonpartisan. I voted on the democrat ballot in this primary because of a friend running for a local office trying to oust the incumbent. I voted for Gabbard just to siphon a vote from Joey.

Spez: We need to rebrand the Republican Party into something entirely new to root out the RINOs. Maybe the New Federalist Party?

VictoriousOnceMore88 24 points ago +24 / -0

Does your family (parents/brothers/sisters) support President Trump? Welcome to the Party of Freedom, Liberty, Life, Hope and Peace! We have many supporters who are of faith and non-faith but the bonds of loving our leader, our American Flag, the Constitution, our First Family and indeed our Nation has kept us glued together.

What do you like/love most about Donald and what are your thoughts of FL Melania? If I may ask, have you been fortunate enough to find Pedes around you to potentially date? Are you in a swing state?

Welcome aboard the Trump Train and we are glad to have you!

40
Fullarr [S] 40 points ago +40 / -0

All of my immediate family is voting for Trump. My extended family is a lost cause and it saddens me.

I reached out to some of my cousins after last Christmas to ask why everyone was so distant this past year. And they said I had radical views that were off-putting lol.

I have never in my life been described as radical before. It came as a shock to me. I've never even discussed politics with my cousins, but I guess they overheard me discussing why I disagreed that new and higher taxes were needed to pay for the same fire service with their father. He's a local politician (D) and I was pointing out the illogical nature of having the same number of fire fighters and buildings, but increasing taxes to buy a new fire truck. In my mind they should have enough to run the city already, or else they can cut from vanity projects that obviously are limiting their funds for useful things. We disagreed in a mostly jovial back and forth. My uncle and I know we disagree and don't really push each other too much.

I love Melania, she's an impressive person in her own right, and it's crazy how disrespectful the media is to her and Baron.

As for Trump, I think he's a cheerleader for the country. He is a positive force for change, and he's achieved more of his campaign promises than any President in my lifetime, maybe ever. I love that he doesn't let the media control the narrative, he treats them like the children they are, and he seems genuine. He's not a perfect person (no one is), but he seems like the perfect person for what we need in this country. Trump shows Americans every day to be unafraid and bold. Boldness is usually rewarded in kind. The only people that can prevent our success is ourselves.

12
VictoriousOnceMore88 12 points ago +12 / -0

Your reply is fantastic; may I ask of the dating aspect since finding Pedes online is rough and dating websites/local churches are not a guarantee. Just wondering and are you in a swing state?

20
Fullarr [S] 20 points ago +20 / -0

I'm happily married to a woman I can share our best memes with. She's an even bigger fan of Trump than I am :)

And I'm in Texas now. The land of the Free, and the place where Come And Take It is a very serious proposition to all those who doubt us.

I haven't been here long, but I absolutely love it!

Personally socially conservative, but governmentally socially liberal here. I don't want the government or anyone else imposing standards on me or anyone else. Freedom of religion means letting people make their own choices. People need to change inside out, not top down. I voted Gary Johnson too

8
DeafMute 8 points ago +8 / -0

I agree. Liberalism is the belief in individual liberty emanating from the Creator, and the state deriving its authority from consent of the governed. Until recently, the Left has cleaved publicly to some form of liberalism as civil libertarianism, even as it inexorably increased the scope and power of the state, and bided its time growing within our institutions.

Having achieved cultural hegemony, the Left has now abandoned all pretense, and made a clean break with liberalism. The individual is nothing. The group is everything. There are no rights, only privileges and reparations. There is no God, only the State. History is an arrow. Revolution is the means. Communism is the end.

I kid you not, with the exception of Reagan, the republicans are spinless and mediocre. We need a new party. A new right party. Teddy Roosevelt was onto something when he left the republican party to start the Bull Moose Party.

The first time I heard Trump say, "I will fight for you," I knew he was a real republican. Trump2020. Oh, and vote. Always. Keep these a--holes accountable.

7
Verrerogo 7 points ago +7 / -0

First timers, make sure well in advance that you are registered. And know where your polling place is. An internet search might help with that. "Am I registered in XYZ town_______"

If you receive a card in the mail about the election, take it with you when you go vote. That will make it easier for the poll workers to send you to the right line,

It might be an idea to go early. Take something discreet to eat, and something to read. Take water. It might be an idea to go so early that you are first or second to vote when the polls open. Much less crowded.

Let some friend or relative know where you are going. Later, they should vote too, of course, and you should know where they went.

I would not schedule anything important for the rest of that day, no doctor or dentist appointments, nothing serious.
