This. I made a throw away account just to comment. I'm 41 yo and have never read the entire Bible. I bought one back in 2016 just before the election, when all that spirit cooking & pizza gate stuff started coming to life. Since the first of the month I've been reading 3 chapters a night before bed (5 on Sundays). Started with Genesis. I actually look forward to it each night. This is my second attempt, so hopefully this time it sticks.
You did the math, 3 chapters a day and you'll get through it in a year. Starting in Genesis and going through it like a normal book is the worst possible way to read through the Bible your first time. Some have done it but it's not at all in chronological order and there's some seriously dry stuff to wade through near the beginning that likely won't make much sense. How far along are you now?
There are a lot of different approaches that are much more user friendly, we could discuss those if you want. One important thing to bear in mind is just get it IN you first, God can work with it there.
The best sermon I ever heard was from a little old man no name preacher, who was on his 100 and some odd time reading through the whole Bible. Boy did it ever show! We'll never exhaust all of what it has to say to us ...
You version Bible app is a great way. It has specific plans you can pick from to read the whole Bible in a year or less. But starting with the Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John definitely would be an easy way to get some momentum going.

I've heard to start with the Gospels? I'd take any recommendations. I tried the above user's way and you are correct it is dry and hard to start with.

Lord forgive me for calling the Bible dry, lol
