Not everybody has to make politics their life. Some people want to enjoy their hobbies and don’t feel informed enough or passionate enough to know the candidates and issues. While possibly less than ideal and something I personally disagree with, that is their sacred right - each individual defines their own pursuit of happiness.

One of the reasons I love Trump is his propensity to up peoples’ political awareness/engagement. But trying to go down the “personal is political” path just turn a people off, is related to control, and has been shown to be pretty toxic to the average disengaged person
