For the first 12 hours, the story of those two bimbos throwing themselves in the way of a car was plastered all over the internet and news sites were clutching their pearls at yet another example of white racists using cars to disrupt protests.
Literally the moment it came out that the driver was black and the victims white, it dropped off every front page and twitter completely ceased talking about it. Any story that remains describes how "a car" hit protestors. No, a person driving a car hit those people. It wasn't some rogue self-driving car that gained sentience and elected to run people over. It goes without saying that if the driver was white and the victims black, they would not be using euphemisms to describe what happened.
I know the media always goes for the narrative but jesus this was one of the most shameless examples I've ever seen
The way the story transformed was amazing. First it was an intentional HIT AND RUN by a RAAAYCIST ala the Charlottesville car attack! and the cops had to pursue the driver.
But quickly it faded when the driver actually turned himself in and only left the scene to avoid the yahoos who wanted to kill him. THEN the driver turned out not to be white... but still prolly a racist... then DAMN IT THE DRIVER IS BLACK...
It's a non-story now
Fuck I’m so sick of it. Their lives don’t matter bc their white victims instead of black victims. That is so dehumanizing, the exact shit they always blame the right for.
