No, ping is utility built into Operating Systems to check if a networked device is responding to requests. Also morphed into "hit me up" "call me" "shoot me an email" ad infinum. Ping is also a term used in sonar that refers to the signal sent out to find targets.

EDIT: I just realized you may have been joking so please ignore this mansplaining bit if it is so.
