A lot of the big bend region isn't really suitable for walls, you already cannot drive a vehicle through due to the river so the main issue is small parties crossing in the hinterlands. A human patrol/drone approach would be more practical. The areas around the urban centers should certainly be fortified but having a wall along that stretch is somewhat impractical as much as I would like to see it. Southern Texas is definitely a major issue though.

I've been down there! What the lefties DON'T want you to know is there are actually two walls!
There's a shorter one (10-20') about 100ft south of a taller one most commonly depicted (>30')
In between is a sort of no-mans-land which makes it easy for border patrol to drive thru and spot any people trying to get in.
