One of my great graddad's lost a leg and four fingers on one hand in the mines and he still went down in there. Plus they lived in a mining town, they weren't paid with US currency, they were paid with these coins that had the name of the mining company on them. They could only buy things in the town store, which was also owned by the mining company. If that's not slavery, what is? Oh and it looks like your Grandad lived in a mining town too.
Exactly, they paid them in fake currency, everything was owned by the mines. The gas station, the power company, even the doctor worked for them. They couldn't leave because their money was useless outside the town. Pisses me off, that these people who were mainly white aren't recognized as the slaves that they were.
