Something to be proud of. One of my ancestors came over on a boat to an uncharted wilderness as an indentured servant. He lived in a colony with a 50% mortality rate the first winter. He somehow survived and became a free man about five years later.

Another ancestor of mine had three brothers who fought in the Civil War. One lost their leg at Bull Run (family history isn't sure which Bull Run.)
