Problem is, I really wonder if he is in fear of his own life. I mean, we know the type of people he has to deal with - essentially a vicious, merciless cartel. It definitely seems like Trump knows more than he is letting on and I wouldn't be surprised if he needs to walk a fine line just to stay alive. He can't go all out because he needs a deterrent - dead man's switch so to speak. And he needs to keep them thinking they're winning so they don't try anything. E.g. he didn't go after Hillary, or really anyone so far. And so on. I think this is why.

Some comfort for you....we tend to think of Trump as monolithic, but he has allies. Practically his own deep state.
