The city has all the hallmarks of a first tier major metropolis (eg. boutiques, unique local diners, fancy restraurants, first class parks, and unique sights). The difference is that all of this is packed in so tightly that you can see the whole city on foot and not feel like you're wasting any time. The fusion of British, Chinese and a little Indian, influence is interesting and has a strong sense of character. The people are pleasant and the city is clean and comfortable. With many cities you want to head in, see the sights and leave. Hong Kong made me want to linger...
