You trade your life (in hours of work) for money the the feds take your money.

How is that different from slavery?

Local taxes to go to local efforts make sense.

As for the US military, fund it through tariffs on goods from abroad (keeps manufacturing jobs home) and or war bonds. We do not need 100s of over seas military bases, we need bases all along our southern border badly.
