I said this on /unpopularopinion and got trashed but not only are you 100% right in what you said, slavery, as bad as it was, was the best thing that happened to black people in the long run.

Slavery was very common in that time anyway, muslims enslaved blacks on massive scale and in worse conditions, muslims enslaved whites too, whites enslaved whites, blacks enslaved other blacks etc.

The slavery in the US was very tame when compared to the slavery that happened in Africa anyway.

Last but not least, let's say slave trade in the US never happened. White people simply ignored Africa. Muslims and other black people would be enslaving anyway but that's besides the point.

The point is that up until black colonization, black people were literally stone-age. They leaped tens of thousands of years because of colonization and US slavery.

Had that not happened and blacks were left completely isolated in Africa, where do you think black people would be now? Would they had magically caught back thousands of years of civilization in 400 years?

No, they would be like those amazonian tribes we observe from the helicopter. Just on a massive scale.
