That was noticed and Ted's ego couldn't handle it. he declared that on his next album he would write and sing every song and so he did. After that next tour he fired his band.he quickly lost all credibility because the rest of his song sucked he started barking like a dog and swinging from ropes in a loincloth. He only became a right-wing conservative to get attention.
This is a case of a blind squirrel actually finding a nut.

The next album you are referring to was Cat Scratch Fever. He wrote every song on that album except one he co-wrote with Derek St. Holmes. CSF hit triple fucking platinum.
Those 3 songs were some of the best on the album - Together, in particular. Meatloaf was incredible. And I know what the next album was, and I know what it did. It was shit, even if it sold.

I'm 57. Saw all of Nug's tours up through weekend warriors.
He didn't fire his entire band. Cliff Davies played on Weekend Warriors.
Derek St. Holmes would be the only other real writing talent in that band and he couldn't make it own his own.
Weekend Warriors hit platinum. He wrote every damn song on it. Good shit on that album too. I don't like it as much as FFA or CSF but even the first album wasn't as good as those.
Ted's problem was he started trying to play for the radio. He fucked up when he did that but so did a lot of other bands at that time.
