John Adams listed a number of Preachers who were known as the Black Robed Regiment, including a number of black Reverends who constituted a significant percentage of those leaders such as Richard Allen, Absalom Jones, John Marrent, Lemuel Haynes, &c. Hell, William Cooper Nell wrote a whole tome of black men who are rightfully called Heroes of the American Revolution. In Baltimore, Maryland more blacks voted to ratify our Constitution than whites. Black patriots were apart of the Founding Generation and did a lot to establish the United States of America and were crucial in our undertaking of Independence and Liberty.
