It actually pays for itself, and in short order.

Averaging the cost estimates... shows a net fiscal drain of $74,722 per illegal crosser. ... If we use the NAS projections that include the descendants, the fiscal drain for border-crossers grows to $94,391 each.

That number in general should really make you think. If they on average drain more than the typical citizen earns, then how are those services even propped up?

Above average earners are really subsidizing the whole system, and it explains why the US is in massive debt, because there's just too much bloat.
