I tried walking around occupied territory with no mask, and while I was mostly un-accosted, about once a week I would have a negative interaction with some berniebro store clerk, and they really, really enjoyed ordering me to wear a mask or leave. I found this very stressful, and it really bothered me that I was making their day by providing them with a confrontation.
I have recently started wearing a haloween mask, and the tables are turned. These losers thrive on confrontation, but they cannot stand mockery. Passers by compliment the mask, and the whole thing has turned from a battle into a joke. The mask stasi deserve an ass beating, same as the BLM dipshits who play on the street deserve to get run over, but at the end of the day, I will be worse off - their lives are already shit. Take away their ability to drag you into the muck.
If the masks are bothering you, I highly recommend this route.
My wife told me after we left a store yesterday that I scared the fuck out of the people working there, hahaha. Get told I'm pretty intimidating/scary normally; so having that on amplifies it.

I've only worn it twice because my wife said "this store here bitches about masks" during all this just to have a laugh. Other than those two times for fun, I ignore all of that mask bullshit.
