I'm a single father of a preschooler and a child entering kindergarten. I'm also an essential worker and live in an area with no family connections. Frankly I need my kids to be in school during the week.
Right now Seattle Public Schools is doing two days a week in session or 100% online and I'm beside myself. Worst of all - private schools are in the same boat, so I have no other option other than hiring a full time nanny so I can work, but I can't afford that. My situation is common throughout America.
Move out of Seattle. It's not worth being there due to high cost of living and stupid politics.
All the comments below have given you great advice. Churches are always there to help especially during these times. Even outside of drastic times churches will always help and if they can't they'll do whatever they can to make sure you get the help you need.
