Decriminalization...not legalization. It should be handled similarly to how opening your own breweries operate or the ability to brew at home. Weed is taxed 47% by the state of washington. Vegas and Cali are not too far behind. Colorado actually spends their tax dollars on schools mostly, but EVERY state that's legalized has idiosyncrasies that skew them towards massive corporate investment firms. Who then take a surface level understanding of growing/processing/distribution efficiently and extrapolate it 10fold into a massive hog of a facility or enormous fields. Then there is the massive plastic waste aspect. And the weird open container/storage laws that prevented me from recycling containers in i502.
When the government is involved, there is nothing but bloat, waste, loopholes and venues for the crooked and corrupt to finagle their way to positions of power and rot from the inside. It's happened to EVERY industry. Can we not fuck an industry that has the potential to disrupt DOZENS of corporately dominated industries?
I dream of a day I can run my market farm and have a cannabis aspect to it. A greenhouse and sealed environment to play with genetics and light dep, free from massive poorly run farms dumping pollen EVERYWHERE and preventing me from having a controller environment on my own goddamn land. The ability to process my own hemp into plastics/hempcrete. Then if I decide I want to sell my product? I have the ability to offer tours, have a tasting room(grey area re: DUI) and have a full fledged retail environment....just like a brewery.
Fuck yeah. So much economic potential, environmental potential, all while lowering crime on minorities at a time where racial issues are boiling over. It makes so much sense to me. If you know of any petitions I can sign or some sort of way trump can see it, please post a link here. I live in Florida and can’t legally smoke pot, it’s insane.
