He died in 1865 after being appointed President for life. He united the country. In the 50s President Jacobo Arbenz was overthrown by a coup when the Vanderbilts may have obtained the necklace at that time. So they would be involved in CIA overthrow of the country since there were already reports of the spooks running drugs through the country. It gets deeper suggesting the family was using Guatemala for human trafficking.
